Call for Artists: trick ART treat Gallery Show and Art Market

CALL FOR ART / ARTISTS / CREATIVES!. 
Saturday October 28, 4pm – 8pm DIM Art House will be turned into a Trick-ART-Treat Kid Friendly Trick or Treat / Art Shopping Experience! We are looking for Artists!

1: Black Light Art Gallery – submit up to 3 pieces (1st-free/each add’tl $10) – show will hang in front gallery.
.
2: Art Market in Main Gallery – Sell your wares! $20/space (8′ x 4′ tables/chairs included) – MUST HAVE CANDY FOR KIDS! – each kid will be given a punch card to make sure they visit all artists/stations
.
3: Transform a space / hallway / nook into an experience! (kid friendly!) – slime, webs, oddities, dark light, music … have fun!

*artists keep 100% of sales. 
($ from fees goes toward DIM overhead)

Reservations are a flat entry fee for both days. 
Vendors are not required to attend both days but must register for the time they will be able to work their own table. 
Vendors must be there accordingly in coordination with what they scheduled in advance. 
Space is limited. 
Reservation fees are non refundable *unless the event is rescheduled or canceled. I understand that things come up and exceptions can made for unforeseen circumstances. 
Event is Thursday October 12th 5:00pm – 8:00pm Friday October 13th 5:00pm – 8:00pm or (maybe later if vendors choose) Set up is at 4:00pm day of each show unless prior arrangements are made. Enter into the Black Light Gallery full of unique, local glowing works of art. Meander through our creepy, crawly hallway of fun and enter our Craft-tastic, Candy filled Studio space with Artists, Vendors, Crafts, Experiences and more…

Yes..we have a spooky ART MARKET with artists selling their wares & giving out candy! 
Yes…we have dioramas and weird stuff and oddities along the way! 

Free to enter (donations are gladly accepted)

AUG 27: Rock and Run for Mental Health Paint Party

Submit your own art OR for $10 for you receive a 6×6 canvas to decorate or paint as you please at DIM Art House Paint Party on 8/27/23 at 2pm. Art will be shown at the Rock and Run Art Show on 9/9 at Rochester Community Park. Artist pickup at Noon after event. $10 proceeds benefit mental health charities and DIM programs. Registrants will receive an email with more details closer to the event date.

AUG 18: Learn to Burn: Wood Burning for Beginners

Hosted by Aphrodite Arts

Join us for this relaxing and unique class!

Friday August 18th 2023, 5pm – 8pm, @ DIM Art House
$35 (sign up button below)

Attendants will be taught wood burning basics, including safety and techniques.

Guests will have the opportunity to choose up to 3 wood surfaces on which to burn (scrap wood for the “practice” portion of the class will also be provided).

Available wood surfaces will include:

Coasters

Door Signs

Frames

Serving Trays

Spoons

All necessary tools for completing your projects will be provided, along with artist-guided instruction.

Additionally, an assortment of hors d’oeuvres and drinks will be available throughout the evening!

AUG 11: Joan Burmeister Solo Show

One of central Illinois’s most prolific artists, Joan Burmeister will be having a solo exhibition at Dm Art House, Friday, August 11, 6—8pm. 
Free to attend. All are welcome. 

She will be featuring many new art pieces, 3D artwork, along with some favorite past pieces.

Live musical performance by Julie Brown. 

Joan, originally from Brooklyn, NY attended The School of Visual Arts in New York City. 

She later studied graphic design at the Munson Williams-Proctor Institute in Utica, New York. 

After relocating to Springfield in 1973 she studied communications at Sangamon State University and devoted herself to raising a family while working at Headstart and teaching art classes to children. 

In 1988 she reignited her artistic passion, further developing her talents as she began drawing and etching and printmaking. she lter expanded to full color, abstracts and has evolved into the exploration to full color abstracts and mixed media.
