Call for Art – The Self Portrait Show

Show Date: Saturday, May 22, 2021 – Virtual Show at 3pm, In-Person 4-7pm (depending on parameters)

Submission deadline: May 14, 2021
Drop off deadline: May 18, 2021

Call For Artists: Submissions welcome for ABSTRACT SELF PORTRAITS in any medium (must be a self portrait, not an image of someone else). What does that mean? Abstract Self Portraits is wide open expression of yourself. If you have a piece, send it in! Let’s see if it works in the show!

Size: no larger than 30×40 total space per artist–three pieces per for a max 30×40 in any 2-D format.

No Jury Fee. No Commission. Artist keeps 100% of sales. We prefer to send the buyer directly to you to make the purchase. We will help facilitate the sale, pickup &/or delivery to client if needed.

All Artwork MUST be gallery ready = WIRE HANGERS, READY TO HANG

INCLUDE:

  • Name (as you would like it to appear on tag)
  • Title
  • Size
  • Media
  • Contact Information (email / IG / website)
  • Price

Artist should submit an artist statement (1-2 paragraphs) about the work specifically that we can use when describing the show.

Self Serving Gallery Show 2021

Starting the new year off with a DIM Artists “self-serving” gallery show. Christy, Jeff and Joe took over the gallery to share recent works. Proceeds will be used to help keep future gallery shows low cost/ free.

Call for Art – ORANGE/PURPLE

Show date: Saturday, September 19, 2020

Show Title: ORANGE/PURPLE

Open to any medium, style, content. The theme is based on the color. We are looking for artwork that features ONE of the 2 colors (hmmmmm. or both) as the overall hue. Imagine a gallery room with all purple paintings…no, wait..all orange! What?!

Have fun with the play on colors! We are only looking for a couple more artists, so email us ASAP if you want to be considered.

This is not fully juried, but we do reserve the right to accept or deny any pieces we feel may not fit the show theme.

As always, PG rated – no sexual content or acts of violence will be considered. This will be broadcast on Facebook LIVE at 1pm. The gallery will be open for in-person walk-throughs as requested – private viewings & pop up evening and weekends through October.

Artist retains 100% of sales. We just ask you cover shipping to and fro or drop off. You are also in control of your sales. We will help by connecting you to the interested party.

Psychedelia is represented by many different styles and expressions–we’re showing a variety of interpretations of the concept.

Submit pics! 2D or 3D art.

It can be a piece you already have… or Create new statement or tribute art about social injustice. Maybe submit portraits of those who lost their lives with little to no justice or consequence. It does not have to be literal… Maybe an abstract emotion on how you perceive systemic inconsistencies in our police or legal system. Its up to you!

WE ARE LIMITED space wise so two submission max and we may only be able to display one… (we want to include as many different people as possible.)

THOSE SUBMITTING FROM OUTSIDE OF SPRINGFIELD, IL area… We would literally need art pieces to be at the gallery in Springfield during this mid/late -July show.
