Enter into the Black Light Gallery full of unique, local glowing works of art. Meander through our creepy, crawly hallway of fun and enter our Craft-tastic, Candy filled Studio space with Artists, Vendors, Crafts, Experiences and more…

Yes..we have a spooky ART MARKET with artists selling their wares & giving out candy! 
Yes…we have dioramas and weird stuff and oddities along the way!

AUG 11: Joan Burmeister Solo Show

One of central Illinois’s most prolific artists, Joan Burmeister will be having a solo exhibition at Dm Art House, Friday, August 11, 6—8pm. 
Free to attend. All are welcome. 

She will be featuring many new art pieces, 3D artwork, along with some favorite past pieces.

Live musical performance by Julie Brown. 

Joan, originally from Brooklyn, NY attended The School of Visual Arts in New York City. 

She later studied graphic design at the Munson Williams-Proctor Institute in Utica, New York. 

After relocating to Springfield in 1973 she studied communications at Sangamon State University and devoted herself to raising a family while working at Headstart and teaching art classes to children. 

In 1988 she reignited her artistic passion, further developing her talents as she began drawing and etching and printmaking. she lter expanded to full color, abstracts and has evolved into the exploration to full color abstracts and mixed media.

DIM Art House hosts Group Gallery show & benefit for Animal Protection League of Springfield and DIM Art House!

Artists from all over the country are participating! Choosing a Springfield APL adoptable pet as their muse, the artwork & pet’s bio will hang inside the main gallery at DIM! We are splitting the proceeds Artist 50 / DIM 25 / APL 25

Artists deserve every penny! We are giving by nature and just donating a fraction of their sales is HUGE. We are grateful and humbled to share in this venture!

DIM Art House is funded solely by donations and member artists input. We keep our gallery fees as low as we can so that the ARTISTS can thrive!

APL : The Animal Protective League is a non-profit 501C(3) organization dedicated to caring for ill, injured and abused homeless animals and coordinating the adoption of those animals by responsible pet owners. It further is commited to ending companion animal overpopulation by offering high-quality, low-cost spay/neuter services

The Event

All artists work will be on display & available to purchase from the artist with a copy of their muses’ bio! The APL will be on site with information & the Mobile Adoption Unit!! We are so excited to share this event with them!!!

Welcome to our 1st show of 2023 ! This show is an homage to the versatility of wood. Do you know what encaustic painting is? You should come and check it out! The history of encaustic painting goes back to the Ancient Greek artists! It is fascinating! Hot / Heat / Melted color on wood – wax layered and layered. So cool!

Other works in the show include Woodworking / Spinning / Carving / Mixed Media / Painting / Sculpture and more!

The gallery will be open Fridays 5-7 and Saturdays 12 – 3 in February for viewing.

This is a fun, relaxing, “party” to celebrate community, art and pre-holiday craze.

Doors open at 4pm. We will have snacks/drinks but feel free to BYOB/grub – family friendly!

Are you an artist that would like to hang a piece in this show?! This is NOT juried (aside from our standard community respect rules).

All 2d pieces need to be ready to hang with a wire hanger. If not, we will provide one for your $10 – and we can show you how to do this on your own for next time.

FREE for 1st piece, $20 any additional pieces (qty may be limited but we try to fit)

Friday, December 2nd , 6:00 to 9:00 pm, with a gallery talk at 7:00.

It continues on Saturday, December 3rd from 1:00 to 4:00 at DIM Art House.
